The police have remanded 10 people arrested in the case filed by the police in connection with the clash between the BNP activists and the police in Narayanganj.
On Sunday afternoon, the police presented the accused in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Noor Mohsin and applied for a 10-day remand. At this time, the court granted a one-day remand.
Court Police Inspector Asaduzzaman confirmed these facts and said that Deputy Inspector Kamruzzaman of Narayanganj Sadar Police Station filed a case against 5000 people with the names of 71 people as plaintiffs. In the case, allegation of assault on the police, vandalism, obstructing government work, arson and injuring the policemen have been made. Police arrested 10 accused in this case. In the afternoon, they were produced in the court seeking a 10-day remand. The court granted a one-day remand.
Those who have been remanded are – Md. Abdus Sattar, Md. Mojibur Rahman, Ranjan Kumar Debnath, Rajiv, Md. Johnny, Badal, Md. Abul Kalam Bhuiyan, Rimon, Iman and Sohan.
BNP leaders and activists clashed with the police in Narayanganj last Thursday from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM. One person was shot dead. More than half a hundred people including police and BNP workers and pedestrians were injured. At that time, DIT commercial area and No. 2 railway gate area became a battlefield.
