Bangladesh strongly protested by summoning the ambassador of Myanmar

The country’s ambassador U Aung Kyaw Mo has been summoned to Dhaka to protest against the third round of shelling on the Bangladesh border from Myanmar.

On Sunday (September 4) morning, the Director General of the Myanmar Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mia Mainul Kabir, summoned the ambassador and gave a protest letter in this regard.

It is known that in the morning the ambassador was summoned to the State Guest House Padma. In an hour-long meeting with him, dissatisfaction was expressed over the recent incident. Myanmar was also warned about this. At the same time, Naypyidaw was also urged by Dhaka that Rakhine needs peace, stability and security for the sake of Rohingya repatriation.

Earlier, on August 20 and 28, mortar shells from Myanmar reached the Bangladesh border. Because of that, Dhaka protested by calling the Myanmar ambassador on August 21 and 29.

Then last Saturday (September 3) at 9:30 in the morning, two shells fired by Myanmar warplanes landed in the Ghumdhum Union area of Naikkhyongchari in Bandarban. It is believed that such incidents may have happened in the continuation of the conflict between the government forces and the rebel groups in Rakhine. However, keeping everything in mind, Bangladesh has maintained maximum vigilance at the border.

Dhaka formally protested by summoning the ambassador for the third time as the Bangladesh border was shelled.
