Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina exchanged views with the tea workers of the country in a video conference.

Earlier, the Prime Minister had a virtual interaction with the workers of Patrakhola tea garden in Moulvibazar around 4:30 pm. Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan welcomed him at this time.
Member of Parliament (MP) of Moulvibazar-4 Constituency Dr. Md. Abdus Shahid, Member of Parliament of Moulvibazar-Asan and District Awami League President Neshar Ahmed, senior administration officials and public representatives.
The district and divisional administration has organized various arrangements to commemorate their happy moment.
Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mojibur Rahman and Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan said that the tea workers of their area were looking forward to talking with the Prime Minister. So all the preparations are decided in advance. The entire event is presented in 21 spots.
Sylhet Metropolitan Police (North) Deputy Commissioner of Police Azbahar Ali Sheikh PPM said that the police have been staying at the Lakkatura Golf Club ground and surrounding areas in Sylhet for the last two days. The area is under strict surveillance. All kinds of preparations have been made by the police and law enforcement agencies to ensure the overall security of the event.
Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with tea garden owners at Ganabhaban last Saturday (August 27) afternoon. In the meeting on this day, with the intervention of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the daily wage of tea plantation workers was increased from Tk 120 to Tk 170. It was also informed in the meeting that according to the new daily wages, other benefits of the tea workers will be increased proportionately.
