There is tension again at Tumbru border of Bandarban upazila. On Saturday morning, two shells fired from the Myanmar military helicopter landed inside Bangladesh. These two shells landed near pillar number 40 of Tumbru border. However, no one was injured.

According to the locals, around 9:30 in the morning, there was shelling from several helicopters of the Myanmar army. Besides, firing from helicopters was done in the border area. For quite some time now, there has been a massive clash between Myanmar’s separatist Arakan Army and the army and border guard BGP on the border.

The Myanmar ambassador was summoned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to protest against the shelling at the border. But even after this, the Myanmar army did not stop shelling the Noman’s Land in the border area.

Meanwhile, there is panic among the people living on the border due to shelling one after another. Superintendent of Police of Bandarban Tariqul Islam admitted to the shelling from the Myanmar warplanes and said that the people living on the border are being asked by the police to be on alert.

Meanwhile, Border Guard Bangladesh BGB has strengthened security at the border. BGB has increased patrolling in important areas of the border.
