Jinnah was admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital due to severe heat. But here too there is no peace. Because many others like him have been admitted sick in the heat. There are more patients than beds. As a result, there is no peace there either.

Jinnah said, “The hospital is also very crowded with patients. Patients on the hospital balcony too.”

Chuadanga recorded a temperature of 42.7 degrees Celsius on Friday; Which is the highest temperature of the whole country and season. Chuadanga Meteorological Office recorded this temperature at 3 pm on Friday. Earlier this season’s highest temperature was recorded in Jessore; 42.6 degrees Celsius.

Because of the intense temperature, people are not able to go out of the house. Even if someone goes out for urgent work, they are panting under the heat of the sun. The tired workers are resting in the shade.

Jaminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Chuadanga Meteorological Office, said, “The temperature has been gradually increasing for the last three to four days. On Friday, the temperature reached 42.7 degrees, breaking the record for the previous days of the season. This situation may continue for two-three more days.”

He said, “The heat wave is going on in Chuadanga from the 12th of April till today. Mild, moderate, severe and very severe heatwaves have occurred during this period. With 14 consecutive days of heat wave, public life has become miserable for good reason.

“Everyone should be careful at this time. Doctors and experts should be consulted. It is better not to go in the sun. Be careful.”

Early in the morning in the field of Belgachi village of Sadar Upazila I talked with Kashem Ali of Gaidghat village of Sadar Upazila. He went there to harvest paddy.

Kashem Ali was saying, “It is not possible to work in the sun. That’s why I started working from early morning. I will finish work by 9:30 in the morning and go home. After that, it is not possible to stay in the field.”

Meanwhile, due to extreme heat, the pressure of patients is increasing in hospitals. At this time, doctors are advising to follow various rules to stay physically healthy.

Dr. Chuadanga Sadar Hospital pediatrician. Asadur Rahman Khokon said, “Child patients have increased in the hospital. Patients are double the capacity. Children should be careful at this time.

“Babies should be breastfed till the age of six months. After that babies can be given extra food along with mother’s milk. Do not take in the sun. Fresh food should be eaten without eating any outside food.

Chuadanga Meteorological Office Senior Meteorological Observer Rakibul Hasan said that there is no forecast of rain in the district for the next three days. The current heat wave may continue.
