Leaders of Hefazet Islam visited the house of two construction workers who were killed in the lynching at Panchpalli in Madukhali, Faridpur and offered condolences and financial assistance to the family members.

On Thursday afternoon, the leaders visited the houses of the victims in Choperghat area of ​​Nawapara Union. They visited the graves of two brothers.

Hefajat Islam Secretary General Sajidur Rahman, Joint Secretary General Azizul Haque, Dhaka Metropolitan Amir Kafayet Ullah were present at this time.

Apart from this, OC Miraj Hossain of Madhukhali Police Station, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Madhukhali Circle Mizanur Rahman were present.

Sajidur Rahman, Secretary General of Hefazat Islam, told reporters, “It has been understood from the video of the incident, speaking with the family and locals, that Dumain Union Chairman and two members are directly involved.

“We call upon the administration to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter and ensure the speedy arrest and exemplary maximum punishment of those directly involved in the incident.

The Secretary General of the organization warned that otherwise Hefazet Islam will announce the movement program across the country.

On the evening of April 18, angry mobs attacked construction workers stationed at a nearby primary school following the incident of fire at a Kali temple in Panchpalli village of Dumain Union of Madhukhali upazila. Construction of school toilet was going on. That’s why the workers were there.

Two workers lost their lives in mob beating. They are Shahjahan Khan’s son Ashraful (21) and his brother Ashadul (15) of Ghoperghat village in Nawapara union of the upazila. Five more workers injured in the incident are undergoing treatment.

According to the police, three cases have been registered in the Panchapally incident. 12 people have been arrested so far. Two of them have given a statement in court. The arrest list also includes two people seen in the video.

All those seen in the video have been identified. Besides, operations are being conducted to arrest UP Chairman Shah Asaduzzaman and UP member Ajit Kumar Biswas.

After the incident, the Minister of Religion and the Secretary of the Ministry of Religion visited Dumain and Noapara areas of Madhukhali. Apart from this, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdur Rahman, Railway Minister Zillul Hakim also visited.
