Own Correspondent: Bangladesh Export Import Company Limited (Beximco) has announced the commencement of subscription of Beximco 1st Unsecured Zero Coupon Bonds.

The company said that the first phase of this subscription will start from April 28 and end on May 15.

On April 3, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) approved Beximco to issue bonds worth a total of Tk 1,500 crore.

IFIC Investment Limited is the arranger for this bond and Thanhani Life is its trustee. ‘Beximco 1st Unsecured Zero Coupon Bond’ has a discount rate of 15 per cent, the highest ever. In this, monthly return will be 1 thousand 250 taka for every 1 lakh taka.

This non-convertible, redeemable, unsecured bond aims to raise Tk 1,500 crore from the market, of which Tk 1,000 crore will be used to provide loans to Sreepur Township Limited for Mayanagar project development. The remaining Tk 500 crore will be spent on repayment of existing bank loans of Beximco Limited.

The investment can be particularly attractive due to the high rate of return, where an investment of Tk 1 lakh will yield a total return of Tk 1 lakh 75 thousand in five years including capital.

This return may be particularly attractive to Non-Resident Bangladeshis (NRBs) and local employees.

The minimum investment limit for this bond subscription is fixed at Rs 50,000 and there is no maximum limit. As a result, all kinds of investors can invest in it.

This attractive bond is limited in number and is likely to sell quickly. So it will be available to purchase on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis.

Those interested can know more details about this bond by calling 16900 or by scanning the QR code used in the respective campaign.
