ABU DHABI: UAE flag carrier Etihad Airways has announced plans to resume Airbus A380 flights to Paris. Etihad Airways will start operating its popular double-decker aircraft from Abu Dhabi-Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport from November 1.

The French capital has become the third largest city after London and New York to see the deployment of an Etihad Airways A380 aircraft.

Antonio Neves, Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, said: “The introduction of the A380 on the Abu Dhabi-Paris route enriches the leisure and business travel that Etihad is known for promoting business connections as well as a rich cultural scene.”

Earlier this week, Etihad Airways resumed A380 flights to New York in the United States.

One of Etihad Airways’ two daily flights to New York will be operated by an A380 to accommodate the busy summer travel season and business travel market, the airline said. Meanwhile, the other will be operated by a Boeing 787-9.

The airline ended A380 service in 2020 following the outbreak, grounding 10 superjumbo aircraft in its fleet. A total of four Etihad A380 aircraft are now back in service.
