The court has sent 7 people including the newly expelled Upzella Chhatra League president and a woman arrested on suspicion of being members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) in connection with the looting of arms by Ansar forces in Bandarban’s Ruma.

On Tuesday (April 23) at 2.30 pm, Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Bandarban Judge Senior Judicial Magistrate SM Emran ordered to send them to jail.

The accused are Lal Nun Noam Bom (68), Lal David Bom (42), Chamlian Bom (56), Lal Peklian Bom (32) of Munlaipara area of ​​Ruma Upazila, Bhan Mun Noam Bom (33), Lalmin Bom (50) ) and Vanbiak Lian Bom (23), son of deceased Siam Moi Bom of Laimipara, Bandarban Sadar Upazila.

GRO Biswajitsingh of the court said that six accused were arrested in the case filed in the case of looting of arms and ammunition of Ansar members from the upazila area of ​​Ruma and one of them was brought to the court under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

On the other hand, Ruma Upazila Chhatra League President Bhan Mun Noam Bom was expelled by the district committee on Monday (April 22) on the charge of indulging in activities against party constitution, indiscipline, criminal and undermining the dignity of the organization.

It is to be noted that the court sent 78 people arrested so far to Bandarban jail in connection with bank robbery, mosque attack, money-arms robbery and kidnapping of bank manager in Ruma-Thanchi. Apart from this, the court has granted 2-day remand to 59 of the 78 people arrested in this incident and allowed 3 women to be interrogated at the jail gate.
