Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took part in a private meeting with the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at her office on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina participated in a private and bilateral meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Sheikh Hasina welcomed Sheikh Tamim with flowers at the Tiger Gate when he arrived at the Prime Minister’s office in Dhaka at 10:30 am on Tuesday. Later, the two leaders held a private meeting at Shimul Hall of the Prime Minister’s office.

After the private meeting, they took part in a photo session at the Globe Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office. After that, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Emir Sheikh Tamim of Qatar sat in a bilateral meeting with the representatives of the two countries at Chameli Hall.

After the bilateral meeting, six agreements and five memorandums of understanding are scheduled to be signed between the two countries in the presence of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Corbi Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Agreements on avoidance of double taxation and tax evasion, agreements on cooperation in legal matters, agreements on maritime transport, agreements on mutual development and security, agreements on the exchange of prisoners and the establishment of joint business councils will be signed between the two countries.

Besides, the memorandum of understanding should cover cooperation in labor force, port management, cooperation in higher education and scientific research, cooperation in youth and sports and cooperation in diplomatic training.

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Dhaka on Monday afternoon on a two-day state visit. He was welcomed by the President at Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Sahabuddin. The Emir of Qatar was given a red carpet reception at the airport.

This is the first high-level state visit from any Middle Eastern country after Awami League formed the government for the fourth consecutive term under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

And this is the first visit of any Emir of Qatar to Bangladesh in the last two decades. Finally in 2005 the then Emir of Qatar Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani came to Bangladesh.

At the end of the formalities of the Prime Minister’s office, the President said The Emir of Qatar will attend the lunch hosted by Sahabuddin.

The government is naming the park to be built on sand ground in Mirpur’s Kalshi and the road from Mirpur ECB premises to Kalshi flyover after the Emir of Qatar.

It was said that Sheikh Tamim would personally inaugurate these two facilities on Tuesday. However, Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud said that he is not going due to ‘lack of time’.
