Real estate stocks were trading in the green, with the S&P BSE Real Estate Index up 77.14 points or 1.06 percent to 7364.63 at 09:42 IST.
Among the constituent stocks of S&P BSE Real Estate Index, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd (up 3.36%), Prestige Estate Projects Ltd (2.61%), Phoenix Mills Ltd (2.57%), Macrotech Developers Ltd (up 1.37%), Shova Ltd (1.25 % increased) was at the top. Other gainers included Oberoi Realty Ltd (up 0.59%), Swan Energy Ltd (up 0.5%), DLF Ltd (up 0.32%), Brigade Enterprises Ltd (up 0.3%) and Godrej Properties Ltd ( 0.26% higher).
As of 09:42 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex rose 255.27 points or 0.35% to 73343.6 points.
The Nifty 50 index rose 116.75 points or 0.53% to 22,263.75 points.
The S&P BSE small-cap index rose 507 points, or 1.12%, to 45,940.79 points.
The S&P BSE 150 mid-cap index rose 95.13 points, or 0.7%, to 13,685.41.
On the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2,398 shares were in the green, 605 were in the red and 115 shares were unchanged.
