--

The party’s secretary general said that the decision of the Jatiya Party to participate in the 12th national parliament election has not been finalized yet. Mujibul Haque Chunnu. He said, we are in the election process. We had hoped for an environment where the confidence that the elections would be fair is not yet complete. He said this while talking to reporters at the Jatiya Party chairman’s office in Banani.

He said that the government party and BNP are not interested in dialogue. But there is still time to negotiate. He called on the government to bring opposition parties including BNP to the elections.

Chunnu said, if a coalition or a grand alliance is to be made, then an application must be made to the Election Commission first. We have not given any such written application. Because our decision was that we will field candidates in 300 seats in the next election. We still have that decision. In 300 seats we will elect our own symbol plough.

Meanwhile, the leaders collecting nominations said that the National Party will pass if there is a fair election. We want a free and fair election in the country. They expect Jatiya Party to have a tough fight with Awami League.
