Dhaka: Eight more people have died due to dengue in the last 24 hours. Besides, 1 thousand 84 people have been admitted to hospitals across the country due to dengue.

This information was informed in a press release about dengue sent from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health on Tuesday (November 21).

It is said that in the last 24 hours, 1 thousand 84 people were infected with dengue and admitted to the hospital. Among them, 221 people in Dhaka and 863 people in the whole country (excluding Dhaka City) have been admitted to hospital due to dengue.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,267 dengue patients have been discharged from hospitals across the country. Among them, 281 people from different hospitals in Dhaka and 986 people from different hospitals all over the country (except in Dhaka) got clearance.

The notification also informed that eight people died of dengue in the last 24 hours. Of these, five died in Dhaka and three across the country (excluding Dhaka City). A total of 1,562 people have died due to dengue this year. Among them, 909 people died in Dhaka and 653 people died in the whole country (excluding Dhaka City).

A total of 3 lakh 3 thousand 536 people have been affected by dengue till November 21 of this year. Among them, 1 lakh six thousand 42 people in Dhaka and 1 lakh 97 thousand 494 people in the whole country (except Dhaka City) have been infected with dengue.

A total of 297,512 dengue patients have been discharged from the hospital so far this year. Out of this, 1 lakh 4 thousand 5 people from different hospitals in Dhaka and 1 lakh 93 thousand 507 people from different hospitals across the country (except Dhaka City) have received clearance.

At present, a total of 4,462 dengue patients are admitted in hospitals across the country. One thousand 128 people in Dhaka and 3 thousand 334 patients in the whole country (excluding Dhaka City) are hospitalized.

It is also said that in the current year, the rate of getting clearance from the hospital due to dengue is 98 percent. The hospitalization rate is one percent and the mortality rate is 0.5 percent.

From January 1 to December 31 last year, a total of 62 thousand 382 patients were admitted to various hospitals in the country and a total of 281 people died due to dengue.
