Advance ticket sales of Cox’s Bazar Express delayed due to technical problems

Railways has delayed the advance ticket sale of Cox’s Bazar Express train due to technical problems in the website.

Additional Director General (Operations) of Railways Sardar Shahadat Ali confirmed this information to The Daily Star.

Tickets for this train were supposed to go on sale from Tuesday.

Sardar Shahadat Ali said, ‘upgradation work is going on in our website to change the schedule of many trains. Therefore advance ticket sales were not possible.

The newly inaugurated Cox’s Bazar line will start running on December 1. As per rules, railways start selling train tickets 10 days before departure.

Additional Director General Shahadat Ali said that there is a possibility of getting advance tickets on the website from next Thursday.

Earlier, the Railways announced the launch of a pair of trains from Dhaka to Cox’s Bazar. The company has also published the rent list for this.

Railways have fixed the ticket price for Non-AC Chair (Shovan Chair) at Tk 500 (per person) and AC Chair (Snigdha) at Tk 961.

Composed of 16 newly imported coaches, the train will have at least 780 seats.
