Dhaka: A total of 10 passenger buses were set on fire in the capital in one day, including 8 on the night before the start of the fourth round of blockade called by BNP-Jamaat. Apart from this, another bus caught fire on Sunday (November 12) afternoon during the blockade. A woman was burnt in the fire incident and is undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina Burn Unit.
On Sunday (November 12), Talha bin Jassim, the media cell officer of the fire service headquarters, said, ‘Fire service received a total of 9 fire reports from 8:00 pm on Saturday, 11 November to 6:00 am on November 12 (the night before the blockade). 7 incidents occurred in Dhaka City, 1 in Dhaka Division (Gazipur), 1 in Barisal Division (Barisal Sadar). 8 buses and 1 pickup van were burnt in this incident. 19 units of fire service and civil defense and 193 personnel work in extinguishing this fire.
Among them, 1 bus named Lal Sabuj in front of Notre Dame College of the capital at 8:20 pm, 1 bus of Gabtali Link City Paribahan in front of Gabtali Bus Stand at 8:30 pm, 1 bus named Sama Samtam in front of Gulistan Sundarban Square Market at 9 pm, 1 bus named Anabil Paribahan at Jatrabari intersection at 9:27 pm. 1 bus, 1 pickup van to Jugitla in Gazipur at 9:33 PM, 1 bus called Mirpur 14 Prajapati Paribahan in front of Kafrul Police Station at 11:38 PM, 1 bus called Ma Enterprise in front of Rupnagar Police Station at 12:00 PM, 1 bus called Ma Enterprise in front of Barisal Divisional Police Office at 3:35 PM and 6 AM A fire incident occurred in 1 bus called Malanch Paribahan in Sutrapur at 9 minutes.
According to the information of the fire service, another Prajapati Paribahan bus was set on fire at 1:13 PM on Sunday at Mirpur Gol Chattar area. However, the Fire Service has no information that miscreants set fire to a bus of Baishakhi Paribahan and a bus of Shikar Paribahan in Agargaon on the road in front of Shyamoli National Orthopedic (Pangu) Hospital in the capital on Saturday (November 11) at 10:25 pm.
Accordingly, a total of 10 vehicles caught fire including 8 buses from the fire service. In these incidents, a woman was burnt to death in the car of Anabil Paribahan in Jatrabari. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Sheikh Hasina Burn Unit. Apart from this, there were no casualties.
