Various Indian electric two-wheeler startups have ventured to expand in foreign markets as well. Ather Energy, one of the largest e-scooter companies in the country, has opened its first international outlet or experience center across India in Kathmandu, Nepal. Ether will jointly run the business in that country with Vaidya Energy of Nepal. The company said it will open ten such showrooms in other cities of Nepal.

The company is determined to deliver their flagship electric scooter model 450X to give Nepalese buyers an alternative to petrol powered two wheelers. It is learned that Vaidya Energy will not only help in selling and servicing Ether, but will also play a role in setting up Ether grid charging stations across the country. Ather 450X has become a favorite of numerous Indians for its instant acceleration, ride handling and performance. The scooter offers comfortable riding even on hilly roads.
Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ether Energy, said, “The electric two-wheeler market in India is the same as it was in India 5-6 years ago, now it is the same in Nepal. As we have seen from previous experience, the best way to increase the demand in the market is to introduce high quality and high performance vehicles in the market. We are confident that the Ather 450X offers the best performance and quality. All the Nepali customers who have ridden the scooter have had a positive experience.”
On the other hand, Suruans Baidya, CEO of Baidya Energy said, “We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of Ether’s first Experience Center in Kathmandu. Our journey began with a mission to transform the way people travel in Nepal. We are committed to implementing that.”
