Hero Xoom 160 ADV maxi-scooter is coming
In the adventure scooter segment, apart from Yamaha, Honda and Aprilia sell the X-ADV and SR GT models respectively. Although both of these are of larger engine displacement. On the other hand, Honda sells their ADV160 scooter in the Indonesian market. Hero MotoCorp is going to bring this kind of eye-catching premium scooter in India.
This year Xoom 110 has created a response in the market. This inspired Hero to launch the more powerful Xoom 160. The teaser of the scooter shows a long apron with twin headlamps, long windscreen, large alloy wheels with dual-purpose tyres, cornering lamps, step-up single seat, up-swept exhaust and long-travel fork at the front.
Hero can use the Xtreme 160R 4V engine to power it forward. The 163 cc, air cooled, fuel injected, four valve engine produces a maximum power of 16.6 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 14.6 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. That may be de-tuned on the Xoom 160 though. The resulting output could be 15 bhp and 14 Nm.
The Xoom 160 model will be sold through Hero’s premium two-wheeler dealership ‘Premia’. It will offer a bunch of advanced features. Like digital console with Bluetooth connectivity, call and SMS alerts, music, rider telematics etc. Besides, dual channel ABS and disc brakes on two wheels can be given in the scooter.
