BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with several senior leaders are in jail. Central leaders are in hiding due to fear of arrest. Most of the grassroots activists are homeless. Regardless of the situation, BNP has decided not to back down from the strict program on one-sided demands. The party is optimistic about the success of the movement despite being under some pressure due to the arrest and case. Wants to collect the demand before announcing the schedule for the 12th Parliament elections. Various preparations are being made in that way. Taking lessons from past movements, this time it is proceeding with a different strategy.
If one leader is arrested, another alternate has been asked to take the lead. Senior leaders are placed in the field planning. And middle level and district level leaders are responsible for implementing the program. There are instructions from the High Command to maintain strict secrecy in all matters. Even the members of the standing committee are informed about the program a few hours before the announcement. This information is known from related sources.
It is also known that the top leadership of the party has asked important leaders to avoid arrest till the election schedule is announced. This is why the central leaders are in hiding. However, if a responsible leader is arrested, another leader will fulfill that responsibility to continue the field movement. A kind of direction was given before the General Assembly on 28 October in this regard; So that there is no problem in program announcement and implementation.
Acting Chairman of BNP from UK is supervising the movement-programme. BNP standing committee member Dr. Abdul Moin Khan told Jugantar, there is no time to turn back. There is no opportunity to stop the movement by oppression, torture, false cases, arrests. Every worker of BNP will play the role of leader and bring success in this movement.
He also said that we are steadfast in the peaceful democratic movement in the one-sided demand of the fall of the government. The systematic movement that is going on will continue. The movement to restore democracy in the country cannot be thwarted.
BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told Jugantar that the current ruling group has lost its sense of purpose because it is scared of the blockade program led by BNP. The government is thinking that arrests, remands, torture and oppression will bring the movement to a standstill. But BNP is the largest and most popular political party in the country.
People are with this party. So no strategy of the government to suppress the movement will succeed. The leadership of BNP cannot be weakened either. The last person from BNP to be out of jail will lead the movement. The people are determined to implement the non-partisan neutral government system during the elections, including the resignation of the government through the movement. The illegitimate government will fall soon.
The BNP held a nationwide strike the next day to protest the attack and killing of the Dhaka mass rally on October 28. After that, the party started a blockade for 3 consecutive days from October 31. When it ended on Thursday, a 48-hour blockade program was announced that afternoon again from tomorrow Sunday. Policymakers said they also have information that the schedule will be announced by November 15. That is why the blockade program can continue till the schedule.
A more stringent program like nationwide blockade-hartal may also be given in the name of ‘non-cooperation’. It has been found that BNP is moving forward with a plan if the program is successful. The 4-day program of the last strike and blockade was shared among the leaders and activists of BNP and affiliated organizations across the country including the capital.
One day those who have entered the field, the other day many of them have not been brought down. Again, the capital Dhaka does not want to come down with maximum power. Dhaka metropolis has been divided into 30 zones north and south. The officials are coming to the field in coordination. Several leaders of the metropolis, who did not wish to be named, said that their main target was to block the schedule. So want to come down to the capital with maximum power a few days before the schedule. Dhaka may be completely isolated. All preparations have been made for this.
A member of the standing committee, who did not wish to be named, said that the ongoing movement of BNP is going according to plan. Some responsible leaders visited 82 organizational districts of the party for 2 months with the idea that the leaders and activists may face such a situation. Besides giving various instructions, they collected various information including phone numbers of leaders of BNP and affiliated organizations at all levels. which is with the Acting Chairman.
All the plans were arranged knowing that the senior leaders would be arrested. So no matter how hostile the environment is, there will be no problem to continue the movement. Acting Chairman and several other leaders are outside the country. The various instructions of the Acting Chairman are being conveyed by those leaders to the central leaders including Trinamool through various means. If the movement succeeds, the acting chairman himself is speaking at the union level.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Mirza Abbas, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Joint Secretary General Mojibur Rahman Sarwar, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, Khairul Kabir Khokon, Organizing Secretary Bilkis Akhtar Jahan Shirin, Central Leaders from October 28 General Assembly in Dhaka till Friday. Several senior leaders including Zahir Uddin Swapan were arrested. Several other leaders’ residences were raided.
Trinamool is also in the same situation. Dhaka Metropolitan North Member Secretary, Narsingdi District Convener and Member Secretary, Kushtia and Gaibandha District President and General Secretary, Rangpur Metropolitan Convener and Member Secretary, Narail District General Secretary, Khulna District Convener, Barisal Metropolitan Convener, Barisal South District Convener and some other top Trinamool leaders. The leader has been arrested. Arrest operations are going on every day. Most of the leaders and activists of BNP and affiliated organizations from the union to the district are now homeless.
In such a situation various directions are being given to avoid arrest and make the movement successful. Strict instructions have been given to the leaders and activists of all levels to enter the field vigorously if the program is successful. A message has been sent from the high command to the grassroots to take over if one is arrested. Messages with the slogan ‘Take leadership, give leadership’ are being sent through various social media including mobile phones of activists.
If someone is arrested at the district level, another person is immediately given responsibility in his place. Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan North Joint Convener AGM Shamsul Haque has been appointed as Acting Member Secretary, Narsingdi District BNP Convening Committee Member Sakhawat Hossain Bakul as Acting Convener and Joint Convener Abu Saleh Chowdhury as Acting Member Secretary, Kushtia District Vice President Qutub Uddin as Acting President and Joint General Secretary Engineer Zakir Hossain Sarkar as Acting Secretary. Assigned as general secretary.

Elias Hossain acting general secretary, joint convener of Rangpur metropolis Shahidul Islam Miju acting convener and Md. Abdus Salam has been given the responsibility of Acting Member Secretary, Narail District Joint General Secretary Kazi Sultanuzzaman Salim as Acting General Secretary. Apart from BNP, if any of its affiliated organizations are arrested, the high command has given instructions to make the program successful by assigning responsibility to another person.
