The court granted a 5-day remand to BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas in the case of sabotage and explosives law at Shahjahanpur Police Station in the capital and 5-day remand to BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal in the case of vandalism at the Bangladesh Police Liberation War Museum in Rajarbagh.
Both of them were produced in the court of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shafi Uddin in two separate cases on Wednesday. The investigating officer applied for a five-day remand of Mirza Abbas and a 10-day remand of Moazzem Hossain Alal for a fair investigation of the case. On the other hand, their lawyer applied for bail. After the hearing, the court remanded both of them for 5 days.
Mirza Abbas wants to speak with the judge’s permission during the hearing. When the judge allowed it, he said, I have been in politics for 50 years. I have done many processions. I brought down the Ershad government by protesting. But I have never seen such a time. I have not seen such a case in all these years. They want to wipe us out of Bangladesh. Wants to make not only BNP but also Awami League leaderless. One day the country will be leaderless. I predicted. Earlier on October 29, Deputy Inspector of Police Station Mostafizur Rahman filed a case with Mirza Abbas as the main accused in Shahjahanpur Police Station of the capital. In the case, 700/800 people were named as anonymous accused including 49 people.
According to the complaint of the case, after the rally in Nayapaltan on October 28 at 3:40 PM, under the leadership and guidance of BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, the accused were armed with deadly indigenous weapons and raised anti-government slogans. Conducting various subversive and destructive activities in the area under Shahjahanpur Thana and hurling bricks with intent to kill. Cocktail explosions and obstruction of police official work. On October 28, after the Mahasambesh broke out, the accused vandalized the Rajarbagh Police Liberation War Museum by pelting bricks and breaking glass. Besides, police weapons were seized from the scene. A case was filed in Paltan police station in this incident. Detective police arrested Alal from Shahid Bagh area under Shahjahanpur police station on Tuesday night in the case.
