Israel has released the latest information on the number of soldiers killed in the ongoing war with the Palestinian independence group Hamas.
Israel’s military said 11 of its soldiers were killed on Tuesday in a ground battle in the Gaza Strip in the so-called “second phase” of the war.
They said that since October 7, the number of Israeli soldiers killed in the war with Hamas has reached 326. All those killed on Tuesday were between the ages of 19 and 24.
The Israeli military posted photos of the dead soldiers on its website, the BBC reported. Most of those who died were killed during an unprecedented Hamas attack by Israel on 7 October.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had struck 11,000 targets in the Gaza Strip since the war with Hamas began more than three weeks ago.
On Tuesday, the IDF confirmed that it carried out an airstrike on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. Gaza health officials said the attack killed more than 50 Palestinians in the refugee camp.
The IDF said Israeli forces located Hamas fighters in a high-rise building in the Jabalia area: the building is located near a school, hospital and government offices. The building was bombed after the Israeli military ordered the country’s air force to attack it.
A senior Hamas commander was killed in the attack and Hamas’ underground infrastructure was destroyed, they claimed.
The IDF released video of an air strike on a Palestinian vehicle. They claimed that the vehicle was carrying anti-tank missiles and was heading towards the Israeli forces.
According to the Health Ministry of Hamas-ruled Gaza, 8,525 Palestinians, including 3,542 children, have been killed so far in the attack on Israel in Gaza.
