Dhaka: The fire at Sena Kalyan Bhawan in Motijheel in the capital has been brought under control. The fire service completely brought the fire under control at 9:40 pm.

Earlier, the fire service received information about the fire on the eighth floor of the building at 8:55 pm.

Rafi Al Farooq, the duty officer of the control room of the fire service, said that after receiving the information, 4 units of Siddiqbazar fire station worked on the spot.

The fire service initially did not know how the fire started.

An official of Basic Bank located on the seventh floor of the building said that they saw smoke on the 8th floor at 8:45 pm. Immediately the fire alarm went off. Building security personnel could not reach the source of the fire due to the smoke coil. In the meantime, the fire service was informed.

He said that there is a department of Bangladesh Bank and some private organizations on the eighth floor of Sena Kalyan Bhavan. It could not be determined which office caught fire.

A security worker of Bangladesh Bank, who did not disclose his name, said that the deposit insurance department (DID) of Bangladesh Bank is located on the eighth floor of the building. He claimed that there was a fire in an office of Prime Group. Department of Bangladesh Bank is secured.

The fire service also said that there was no casualty in the fire.
