Barisal: After the inauguration, the pressure of passengers from Barisal to Dhaka’s Sayedabad and Gulistan via Padma Bridge has increased several times. The pressure of passengers at the Barisal Central Bus Terminal Nathullabad was noticeable since Sunday (June 26) morning.

However, passengers complain that different fares are being charged depending on the mode of transport. And transport officials say they are collecting their pre-determined fares as they have not yet received the new fare list.

However, the fare of BMF transport operated under Barisal-Madaripur and Faridpur Malik Samiti is being taken less than the fare of the launch deck of Dhaka-Barisal route.

Utpal Basu Nayan, who is in charge of the BMF transport counter, said dozens of buses with passengers left for Jatrabari in Dhaka from morning till 1pm. Not a single seat of the bus rented at Rs 350 per person was vacant. The first two vehicles reached Jatrabari at 3:30 in the morning.

Meanwhile, BMF Paribahan passenger Solaiman said the deck fare for the launch from Barisal to Dhaka is currently kept at Tk 400. I will be able to reach Dhaka in just a few hours journey at 350 rupees. There can be nothing better than this!

On the other hand, Anisur Rahman, counter manager of Sakura Paribahan, said that their buses will run from Barisal to Technical via Padma Bridge and Sayedabad. The fare for non-AC buses is being kept at Tk 445 per person and for AC buses at Tk 600. At present, there is no pressure from Barisal to Gabtali-bound passengers, everyone wants to go to Dhaka via the Padma Bridge. Even people from Manikganj, Nabinagar and Savar areas want tickets for this route. Many car tickets have been booked in advance so I am not able to give tickets to the last minute passengers.

Hanif Paribahan’s counter manager A. Salam Khan said the pressure of passengers from Barisal to Dhaka via Padma Bridge is high. I am currently keeping the fare at Tk 450 per seat on this route. After crossing the ferry from Barisal to Paturia Ghat, the fare to Dhaka is 500 rupees. However, there are not many passengers in the buses of this route today.

“At the moment we are serving non-AC buses,” he said. I will also provide AC bus service in a short time.

Monir Hossain, counter manager of the newly arrived effort on the Barisal-Dhaka route via the Padma Bridge, said all their buses were AC and they would go to Abdullahpur via Sayedabad. Passengers can get off anywhere. The response of the passengers was received on the first day. As the fare list is not available, the fare of AC bus is being taken at Tk 800 per passenger. However, the rent will be further reduced.

BRTC buses plying from Barisal to Kanthalbari have started plying to Gulistan in Dhaka since morning. BRTC Barisal Bus Depot Manager said that every bus has been loaded with passengers since morning. Jahangir Alam.

He said the passengers heading to Dhaka are still under pressure on Sunday. So today is not going to say everything as one day. However, the number of people going to work today as well as the number of people going to see the Padma Bridge was not less. At present, 14 AC buses from Barisal Depot are providing passenger service on this route. There is no non AC bus. The fare per seat in AC bus is 500 rupees.

Not getting a ticket at the bus terminal in the morning, a passenger named Mahamudul Haque said, I came to the central bus terminal of Nathullabad at 8 am to go to Dhaka. I came to the BRTC bus counter and saw a long line for tickets. Then I asked Hanif, Eagle and Sakura at the transport counter and saw that they did not have any tickets. But even before the Padma Bridge, tickets could be obtained from time to time at the counter. So now I am looking for tickets at the counter of Hilsa and Eagle.
