Gazipur: Former Mayor of Gazipur City Corporation Jahangir Alam has been sent a divorce notice by his wife. which has spread through social media.
It is said in the notice that his wife Kazi Razia Sultana sent the notice on April 30, alleging mental torture, torture and non-payment of maintenance in the family.
When asked about this, former mayor Jahangir Alam told reporters that this is my family matter. Those who are spreading this matter are doing it to humiliate me. I am now busy with elections.
It has been reported that the expelled mayor of Gazipur City Corporation and the former general secretary of the metropolitan Awami League Mohammad Jahangir Alam has been permanently expelled from the party on May 15.
Earlier on November 19, 2019, Gazipur City Corporation Mayor and Gazipur Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary Jahangir Alam was expelled from the party. Later he was temporarily suspended from the post of mayor. After that, he was pardoned and retained as a member of Awami League. This time, Jahangir Alam collected nomination papers for the post of mayor in the Gazipur City Corporation elections.
The Returning Officer canceled his nomination. He appealed to the High Court but did not withdraw his candidature. However, Jahangir Alam’s mother Zayda Khatun has been a candidate for the post of mayor in the Gazipur City Corporation elections. He is currently campaigning for his mother.
