Jabra Fan song controversy | Supreme Court sets aside order directing Yash Raj Films to pay compensation for excluding song from Fan movie dgtl

The film was released in 2016. But Afrin Fatima Zaidi was disappointed after the release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Fan’. Ahead of the film’s release, producer Yash Raj Films released the song ‘Jabra Fan’. But the song was not included in the original film. Disappointed, Arfin approached the ‘National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission’ against the production company. The Supreme Court gave its judgment in this case on Monday.

Arfin alleged that he was cheated. Even, she and her children were depressed after watching the film as the song was not in the film. In 2017, Arfin complained to the district level consumer commission about the matter. But after that the matter reached the state level. The production company was later directed by the National Consumer Commission to pay Arfin a compensation of Rs 10,000 and another Rs 5,000 as incidental legal expenses.

This is not where the matter is settled. Countermeasures were also taken by the production company. According to Yash Raj Films, during the promotion of the film, they never claimed that the song will be included in the film. A bench of Justices PS Narsingh and Arvind Kumar on Monday set aside the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission’s verdict.

Shah Rukh played a dual role in the film ‘Fan’. Badshah was seen as a superstar and his fans. The song ‘Jabra Fan’ sung by Nakash Aziz also became quite popular.
