In 2016, the National Award-winning actor was the first choice from director to producer for the role of Quizmaster in Chalk N Duster.

On the first day, he came to the sets as usual for the shooting of the film. Then that happened. He had to wait eagerly for a long time. He was dropped from the film that very day. After learning that Manoj has been cast as the quizmaster, Juhi is disappointed. And according to sources, Manoj kept pushing for removal.

It is learned that Juhi told the production company that Manoj is not suitable to play the role of a quizmaster. He looks very ‘poor’. He suggested several names of actors whose box office value is very high.

Director Jayant Gilatar tried to convince Juhi to reconsider the situation. But, the actress is adamant. He will not give this role to Manoj under any circumstances. Thinking of no other option, the director and producer finally gave in to the actress’ demands. Manoj was quickly replaced. And this role was played by Rishi Kapoor.

Manoj Vajpayee did not comment on the situation. Juhi Chawla also worked with Manoj later. But Manoj never raised anything about it. He ignored the past days with the actress. And Juhi played the female lead opposite him in Swami.

Released in 2016, the movie highlights the dynamics of the relationship between a teacher and a student. Upon its release, the film received mixed reviews from critics as well. The film was also made tax free in Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
