SP Barrister Zillur on compulsory retirement

SP Barrister Zillur Rahman has been compulsorily retired from government service.

This information was informed in a notification from the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (November 21). According to the order of the President, the senior secretary of the public security department of the Ministry of Home Affairs signed the notification. Aminul Islam Khan.

It is said in the notification, BCS (Police) cadre member Additional Commandant (Police Superintendent) Barrister Md. Zillur Rahman was retired from public service in the public interest as per the provisions of section 45 of the Public Service Act, 2018 (Act No. 57 of 2018). This order issued in public interest will be effective immediately.

It is known that Barrister Zillur Rahman was once the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Moulvibazar. At that time, in a meeting of the Election Commission with the DC-SPs across the country regarding the law and order situation in the upazila elections, the Superintendent of Police said, ‘If action is taken against the BNP candidate, the BNP will not keep our jobs if it comes to power in the future.’ In response to his statement, Election Commissioner (then) Brigadier General (Retd.) M Sakhawat Hossain said, ‘You should remove this respectable police dress from your body.’

This police officer has written a book called ‘Disciplinary System of Government Servants’.

On October 18, the government sent three Superintendents of Police on compulsory retirement. They are CID Police Superintendent Mirza Abdullah Baki, Police Headquarters Police Superintendent Delwar Hossain Mia and Md. Shahidullah Chowdhury.

Two additional DIGs were also compulsorily retired on October 31. They are the Additional DIG of Tourist Police. Mahbub Hakim and Additional DIG of CID. Alamgir Alam

Besides, on October 16, the government retired Information Secretary Maqbul Hossain from compulsory government service.
