The Meteorological Department has predicted rain with thunder in most parts of the country on Friday. However, the sky in the capital Dhaka and its surrounding areas may remain partly cloudy.
This information has been given in the weather forecast of Dhaka and neighboring areas for the next 6 hours from 7 am on Friday (September 23).
It is said that the low pressure over East-Central and adjoining areas has aligned with the monsoon axis. The monsoon axis extends through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. A portion of it extends to the northwestern Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere in northern Bay of Bengal.
In this situation, light to moderate rain or thundershower with gusty wind may occur in some places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and a few places of Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions by 6 pm on Friday. Along with this, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions may have sporadic moderate heavy rainfall.
On the other hand, light rain or rain with thunder may occur in Dhaka. Also, daytime temperatures may remain unchanged. Along with this, wind can blow from south or south-east at a speed of 10 to 15 km per hour.
The forecast also said that at 6 am on Friday, the temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 27.8 degrees Celsius. At the same time the humidity was 89 percent. The minimum temperature is 27.5 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Dhaka on Thursday was 34.6 degrees Celsius.
