Two top leaders of the local Jamaat were arrested by the Jubo League activists when they went to a meeting of party workers in Mirsrai, Chittagong. The incident took place at Madhyam Mithanala area of Mithanala union of the upazila around 12:30 pm on Wednesday.
The victims are Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Nurul Kabir and Training Secretary Abu Bakkar. Local Jubo League leaders and activists live on Facebook while they are being held up.

Mithanala Union Jubo League President Abu Noman denied the jamaat leaders’ ears. He told Kal Kantha, ‘When 10-12 strangers gathered in Madhyam Mithanala village around 12:30 on Wednesday, the locals suspected them. Then one of our party workers asked for their identity and searched their bags and found Jamaat-e-Islami banners and festoons. The local board office brought them to the market and informed the police and the police took them away. ‘
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mirsrai Police Station Kabir Hossain said, ‘Locals suspected two people and informed us. We have sent the police to the spot. I will tell you the details later. ‘
