Two passengers, including a six-year-old child, were killed in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw after being hit by a truck in Sirajganj. The accident took place at Kashiahata market on Sirajganj-Kadda regional road on Tuesday (September 20) around 8 pm.

The deceased are Abdul Malek (25) son of Abdur Razzak of Betkandi village of Ullapara upazila and Yamin (6) son of Hossain Ali of Bhadrakol village.

Abdul Malek’s elder brother Nasir Uddin told Jago News that Malek was going to Sirajganj Sadar Hospital in an auto rickshaw along with his sick friend Hossain Ali and his son Yamin. On the way to Kashiahata Bazar, the autorickshaw driver and the passengers were injured after being hit by a truck. Later, the locals rescued and took them to Sadar Hospital, where the doctor declared Abdul Malek and baby Yamin dead.

However, Hossain Ali, who was injured in the incident, is undergoing treatment at Sirajganj 250-bed Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital.

Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Humayon Kabir confirmed that the two were killed in the road accident on Wednesday (September 21).
