The Inter-District Bus-Minibus Workers’ Union has announced the suspension of bus services on the Jhalkathi-Barisal route in protest against the beating of the workers. The passengers of this route are in trouble.
Habibur Rahman Habib, President of the District Bus-Minibus Workers’ Union, gave this information on Wednesday (September 21) at noon.
He said that around 11 o’clock, the bus workers of Jhalkathi ganged up and attacked the bus workers of Rupatali bus terminal. Some workers were not injured. In protest, bus services were stopped on the Jhalakathi-Barisal route.
Workers complain that Rupatali Bus Owners Association is always oppressing. Workers are often beaten up. Due to lack of safety of drivers and workers, bus services have been stopped indefinitely.
Meanwhile, Nasir Uddin, Joint Editor of Bus-Mini Bus Owners Association, said that efforts are being made to solve the problem that has arisen with the worker. If the issue is resolved, the bus service will start again.
