A young man named Rakibul (22) died of dengue in Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (Ramek). He died on Tuesday (September 21) afternoon while undergoing treatment in the hospital’s ICU bed.
Rakibul used to work at Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Pabna.

According to the information provided by the hospital, Rakibul was admitted to Ramek Hospital on the afternoon of September 17. After that, when his physical condition deteriorated, he was sent to the hospital’s ICU at around 2 pm the next day.
Ramek Hospital ICU Unit Chief Assistant Professor Dr. Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal said, finally the boy left the world. He got married earlier this year. Joined a new job a month ago. After being admitted to an upazila hospital with fever, headache and abdominal pain, he was admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital the day before yesterday.
According to hospital sources, currently 19 people are receiving treatment for dengue in the hospital. On Monday, the number was seven.
Ramek Director Brigadier General Dr. Shamim Yazdani said that dengue patients are being treated in different medicine wards of the hospital. Although separate wards have not been arranged for them, they are being treated under mosquito nets in the dengue corner in each medicine ward.
