A leader of the College Chhatra League has been accused of torturing a student of Eden College by pouring hot tea on his body due to a disturbance in the classroom. In this incident, the victim student filed a written complaint with the superintendent.

The incident took place in room 313 of Shaheed Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Necha Mujib student residence of the college last Monday evening. The name of the accused is Ayesha Islam Meem.

He is the Vice President of the College Chhatra League. He is a follower of College Chhatra League president Tamanna Jasmine River. The victim student is a Master’s student of Political Science Department in the academic year 2016-17.

According to sources, a student who is a follower of Meem was sitting on the table after occupying the entrance to the reading room of the hall around 9 am on Monday. The student obstructed the movement and asked him to sit back. There is an argument between both of them. In the evening, Meem entered the student’s room with 10 to 12 Chhatra League workers of the college and abused him in unspeakable language. At one point, he poured hot tea in a mug on the student’s leg and bruised his hand.

When Meem was contacted about the allegations, he told Kal Kantha, ‘Nothing like this happened. Someone is making false allegations against me. I was not present at the scene. ‘

In this regard, Hall Super Nazmun Nahar told Kal Kantha, ‘We have had a meeting on this matter. We will talk to the accused, complainant, hostel super and other girl students and settle the matter. ‘
