Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited India this month. Earlier, he said, “Our government strongly supports secularism. Any kind of communal unrest is immediately dealt with.” Hasina blamed social media to a large extent for the religious confusion. He also commented that social media has become ‘very bad’ these days. Hasina said, “I repeatedly tell minorities (Hindus) that you are citizens of our country. Some sporadic incidents happen. But, we immediately take action against them. It is not desirable in any way, but some minorities also suffer in India.”

Members of my party or government are particularly aware of this. They take action. We strive to maintain a healthy environment. People of all religions have full right to observe their own religious ceremonies. No such comment should be made which may hurt the religion of others.”
