Upazila Secondary Education Officer Arifullah
An education officer has been removed from duty for breaking a mobile phone in an SSC examination center. On Monday, there was a mobile vandalism incident at Pilot High School Center in Pirganj, Thakurgaon. On Tuesday morning, the district education officer ordered to quickly resolve the incident after visiting the relevant examination center.
Pirganj Pilot High School Examination Center Secretary and Headmaster Mofizul Haque said that the upazila secondary education officer Arifullah, the officer in charge of the center, has been removed from duty in connection with the seizure and destruction of 18 mobile phones of the examinees including two room inspectors during the examination.
Assistant Upazila Education Officer Nasimul Bari performed the duty of tag officer at his center on Tuesday.
The center secretary also said that the teachers in charge of different rooms of the center protested the incident of mobile phone breaking in the examination center. They expressed their reluctance to perform duties at the center before the commencement of the examination on Tuesday morning. Later, the teachers performed their duties with the assurance of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer.
Upazila Secondary Education Officer Arifullah said, ‘Phones were broken in anger. The matter has been discussed. ‘
District Education Officer Alauddin Al Azad said, ‘I visited the center after hearing the incident. The act of breaking the mobile phone is not correct. The secondary education officer made a mistake. No written complaint has been received in this regard. If found, appropriate action will be taken. ‘
