Business Hour Correspondent: Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat, the expelled president of Dhaka Metropolitan South Jubo League, has again been admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) in the capital after being seriously ill.
BSMMU’s gastroenterology department medical officer Dr. confirmed the matter on Tuesday (September 29) night. Qutbuddin.
He said, this evening, he turned his head and fell in the bathroom. Then he was brought to the hospital in critical condition. He is currently admitted in the critical care unit (CCU) of the hospital.
Qutubuddin said, he has been suffering from hypertension and diabetes for a long time. We think he suddenly fell in the bathroom because of these reasons. He was admitted to check if he had any heart problems. He has been given several tests including ECG, echo, the report will be detailed tomorrow.
When asked whether the emperor was injured due to the fall, he said that there was no fracture due to the fall. X-rayed soon after arrival, no critical injuries or broken bones anywhere.
The court granted bail to the Emperor on August 22. Judge Al Asad of Dhaka’s Special Judge Court-6 in the case of acquisition of known non-income assets filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). After the hearing, Asifuzzaman granted bail on a surety of Tk 10,000. He was granted bail till September 19 on grounds of ill health. On Monday (September 19), the court extended his bail till October 20. Now he is on bail.
