It has been reported that a person named Shahjahan (50) was killed by a youth’s cricket stamp in Muktagacha of Mymensingh.
The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in Hatil Madhyapara of Ghoga Union of the upazila.
The deceased Shah Jahan is the son of deceased Chandab Ali of Hatil Madhyapara of the same union.
The accused killer young man Farid Mia (25) of that area. Habul’s son.
According to local residents and police sources, Md. was returning home with a goat from Boril Bill of Hatil Madhyapara of Ghoga Union of the upazila around 5:30 pm. Shah Jahan At that time, Farid hit Shah Jahan on the head with the cricket stamp in his hand and ran away. Shah Jahan collapsed on the spot. Local residents and family members rescued the injured and took him to Muktagachha Upazila Health Complex and the doctor on duty referred him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment. On the way to the hospital, he died at a place called Mymensingh Rahmatpur Bypass around 6 o’clock.
The victim’s family and local residents claim that Farid hit Shah Jahan on the head in order to get rid of the anger of an old incident.
The younger daughter of Shahjahan, a college student, told Sweety Jugantar, “My father was killed by Farid.” I want Farid to be hanged.
Elder brother of the deceased. Billal Hossain said, “Farid killed my brother because of love.” I want him hanged.
Local residents Milan Mia, Zubair Ahmed, Sabbir Ahmed, Rashidul Islam, Azad Ali said that about 4 years ago Shajahan and Farid went to Chillar Jamaat for 40 days. There was an argument between them and at one point Farid was slapped by Shah Jahan, which was later settled locally. On Tuesday afternoon, seeing the gathering of people, I went there and heard that Shahjahan had been killed by Farid’s stump. Apart from the previous incident, we do not know whether any other incident happened or not.
Mahmudul Hasan, officer-in-charge of Muktagachha police station said regarding the incident, the police went to the spot after hearing the death of Shahjahan due to the impact of the cricket stamp on the youth. The body has been sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The case is under process and efforts are on to arrest the accused quickly.
