A2i-Robi to work together to simplify payments for government services
Dhaka, September 20, 2022 (BASS) : A2i and Robi Aziata Limited will work together to facilitate the payment system of various government services for the people by launching the Direct Operator Billing (DOB) payment service on mobile. A2I’s Project Director (Joint Secretary) Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir and Robi’s Chief Strategy Officer Ruhul Amin signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under this MoU, ‘A2I’, implemented by the Cabinet Department and the Department of Information and Communication Technology and supported by UNDP, will initially work with mobile operator Robi to develop payment systems for various product-based services. After successful implementation in the pilot phase, A2i will also integrate various mobile wallets operated by other telecom operators in the country with this payment system. A2I and Robi will also work together in the future to develop the Direct Operator Billing (DOB) payment system to further simplify the payment process for end-users.

During the signing of the memorandum of understanding, among others, A2I’s Project Implementation Specialist. Majedul Islam, Digital Service Team Head (Deputy Secretary) Khandaker Manowar Morshed and National Specialist Mohammad Moshiur Rahman and Robi’s Executive Vice-President (Value Added Tax and New Business) Ahmed Arman Siddiqui and Vice-President (Public Affairs and Sustainability) Sharif Shah. Jamal Raj and 40 senior officials from both the organizations were present.
