Recently, BNP has decided to speed up the movement to demand the release of all the royal prisoners including Begum Khaleda Zia, who attacked the leaders and activists in various districts and killed some people, protested the increase in the price of fuel and daily necessities. In the meantime, the high command of the party is satisfied with the spontaneous participation of the leaders and activists in the marches and demonstrations from the district to the union. BNP’s grassroots leaders and activists are also demanding a strict program. In this situation, the policy makers of the party have decided to continue the program to keep the grassroots leaders and activists strong. In continuation of that, rallies will be held at 16 important points in north and south of Dhaka city. In this way, the call of ‘Dhaka Chalo’ program may come again at one stage of the assembly in the divisional cities of the country. Apart from this, BNP has decided to form a legal cell at the central and district level to prosecute every case of death by police firing, torture and death in custody. This decision was taken at the virtual meeting of the party’s standing committee last Monday night. Along with the party program and organizational restructuring, BNP has also continued diplomatic activities ahead of the twelfth national election. The BNP delegation met with the British High Commissioner in Dhaka on Wednesday and the Canadian High Commissioner on Thursday.
BNP office sources said that from August 22 to September 5, the whole country, especially Narayanganj, Thakurgaon, Narsingdi, Netrakona, Satkhira, Patuakhali, Bhola, Barisal, Jhalkathi, Pirojpur, Gaibandha, Chittagong, Noakhali, Feni, Khagrachhari, Rangamati, Dhaka, In Manikganj, Tangail, Munshiganj, Sirajganj, Lakshmipur, Jessore, Meherpur, Jhenaidah, Magura, Narail, Khulna, Bagerhat, Barguna, Brahmanbaria, Comilla, Chandpur, Kishoreganj, Jamalpur and Mymensingh, armed groups and police attacked during party programs. Three people were killed and more than two thousand activists were injured across the country. The number of arrests is more than two hundred. Accused has been named against more than 4 thousand 81 activists and about 20 thousand unknown accused across the country. Section 144 has been issued in 20-30 places and houses, business establishments have been attacked in 50 places across the country.

Dr. Sansila Jebrin Priyanka, the BNP nominated Member of Parliament candidate for Sherpur-1 (Sadar) Constituency in the 11th National Elections, told New Horizon that they have been given a message from the Center to hold party programs on the streets demanding elections under a non-partisan and neutral government. He said that the next elections should be held under a non-partisan government and our leaders and activists are preparing for that demand. The party’s only message now is to raise demands and create simultaneous movements by participating in our organized programmes.
Brahmanbaria district BNP member Rajib Ahsan Chowdhury Pappu said that the people of the country are vocal against the illegal Awami League government. Because the people who are fed up with the increase in the price of daily commodities and fuel and the unlimited looting of the government party now want a change. But the key to that change is in the hands of BNP. Therefore, if this government is to be dismissed, there is no alternative to struggle hard on the streets. Rafiqul Amin Bhuiyan, son of former minister late Main Uddin Bhuiyan and member of Narsingdi district BNP, said that going to any election under the current government would be suicidal. There is no alternative to a strict program to get rid of the mafia government and hold elections under a non-partisan neutral government. Grassroots across the country are now ready. We are all united under the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman. Whenever he calls, Insha Allah, everyone will jump on the streets.
Rally in Dhaka from today: BNP has decided to hold rally in 16 spots in North and South of Dhaka city. The rally will be held from today Saturday till September 27. Among these, South BNP will hold programs on even dates and North BNP on odd dates. This rally will be held to protest the increase in fuel oil price, load shedding, increase in public transport fare, increase in the price of daily necessities, killing of Jubo Dal leader Shaon in Narayanganj and Chhatra Dal leader Noor Alam and Swachchasebak Dal leader Abdur Rahim in Bhola. Clashes are taking place between the ruling Awami League, police and BNP activists while holding programs in different parts of the country on the same demand. In the meantime, Robert Chatterton Dickson, the British High Commissioner assigned to Dhaka, has expressed concern over the violence between political parties and law enforcement agencies.
Dhaka North BNP informed the Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) last Wednesday for the rally to be held from today. South BNPO also sent a letter on Thursday. Senior leaders including BNP secretary general and standing committee members are expected to attend these gatherings as guests. Member Secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP Aminul Haque told Naya Diganta on Friday that Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP has been divided into eight zones. Each zone will have a rally. A letter has been sent informing the DMP commissioner about when the rally will be held in which zone. He said that on the night of September 17, a candle lighting program will be held simultaneously in Dhaka North and South.
In the letter given to the DMP Commissioner, BNP said that it has been decided to hold a peaceful rally from September 11 to 27. Each rally will start from 3 p.m. In the letter, the North BNP has sought the cooperation of the DMP Commissioner in this regard. Besides, security of activists and permission to use microphone has been sought. Saidur Rahman Mintu, who is in charge of the Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP office, said that a letter regarding the series of rallies has been given to the DMP Commissioner on Thursday. Each assembly of the South will be on an even date. The rally will continue from September 10 to September 26.
The eight zones of Dhaka Metropolitan South are Motijheel-Paltan, Shahbagh-Ramana, Sutrapur-Gendaria-Warri, Lalbagh-Chakbazar-Kamrangirchar, Kadamtali-Shampur, Jatrabari-Demra, Dhanmondi-Kalbagan-Hazaribagh-Newmarket and Sabujbagh-Khilgaon-Mugda. The eight zones of Dhaka Metropolitan North are Uttara East-Uttarkhan-Dakshinkhan, Uttara West-Turag-Airport-Khilkhet, Pallabi-Rupnagar-Vasantek, Badda-Bhatara-Rampura, Mirpur-Shahali-Darusalam-Kafrul, Mohammadpur-Adabar-Sherebangla Nagar, Gulshan. -Banani-Cantonment and Tejgaon-Tezgaon Industrial Area-Hatirjheel.
