Pakistan women’s national football team returned to the international tournament after a long eight years. After a long time, they made a comeback in the Saf Football Championship. Pakistan women lost 3-0 to arch rivals India in the first match. How many goals can Bangladesh beat that team? Not the goal difference, only victory in the mind of Bangladesh coach Golam Rabbani Chotan. In his words, ‘We will play to win the match. I will think about the number of goals later.’
Bangladesh coach said after the team practice at the Armed Police Ground on Friday, ‘We have seen Pakistan’s game, analyzed it and prepared the plan accordingly and tomorrow our players will play according to the plan. Hopefully, I can present good football and leave the field with a win.’
He said, ‘Our girls are in the regular game, you got the proof of that in the last match. The doubts that were there due to not being able to play a practice match with Dubai before coming here, completely cleared it in the last match. The girls played well and to plan throughout the 90 minutes. In the next match too, they will play according to the plan and with the maximum.
Choton said, ‘We have worked on the weakness that was seen with the finishing in the last match against Maldives. Also discussed in team meeting. Work has also been done in the field. Hopefully, the reflection will be seen tomorrow. You really have to take advantage of the opportunity and leave the field with a win. A win against Pakistan is very important to survive in the tournament.
Bangladesh last won 2-0 against Pakistan in the 2010 SA Games match. Sabina scored a goal in that match held in Dhaka. Farhana scored the other goal.
Meanwhile, before the match against Bangladesh, Pakistan coach Ahmed Sharif said, ‘We have shown a fighting spirit against India (in the previous match). The girls played according to plan. Fought till the last moment. After returning to international tournaments after a long break, our aim is to improve ourselves. So we will play against Bangladesh in the same mood.
The Bangladesh vs Pakistan match will start at 1:15 pm Bangladesh time tomorrow Saturday at Dashrath Rangshala, Kathmandu.
