Dhaka: According to the Bangladesh Awami League’s 2018 election manifesto, an organization called Job Seeking Youth has demanded that the age limit for job application be increased to 35 years.
The organization made this demand in a press conference at Dhaka Reports Unity on Friday (September 9).
In the press conference, they said that they have been making constructive and logical demands for raising the age limit for government jobs from 30 years to 35 years. Students of all ages have lost more than 2 years of their lives due to Covid-19. That’s why I am demanding to raise the age limit for job application to 35 years to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Recalling the last election manifesto of Awami League, they said that in the 2018 manifesto, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said that the age limit for job application will be increased to 35 years within a few months. When we met him at the Dhanmondi party office on August 25th, he again assured consideration.
They also said that when they contacted the president of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Administration, HN Ashikur Rahman, he said that they are recommending the implementation of the age limit of 30. But the state minister is not moving forward in this regard.
It was claimed in the press conference that the number of job-seeking highly educated unemployed who have lost the age limit after Corona took more than 2 years is now more than 5 lakhs.
Sajid Setu, Tanveer Hossain, Sania Sumi spoke on behalf of the job-seeking youth generation.
