Chittagong Metropolitan BNP convenor Dr. Shahadat Hossain said that people are fed up due to looting and corruption in the country. Mega corruption is happening in the name of mega projects. Digital is being stolen in the name of Digital Bangladesh. People have taken to the streets in anti-country and anti-independence activities. Awami League has no such power to suppress this movement of the people.
He said these things while addressing the chief guest in the first session of the meeting of Unit C of Alkaran Ward No. 31 at Dost Building in Newmarket area of Chittagong on Thursday (September 8).
Meanwhile, Shahadat Hossain also said, ‘Awami League leaders have lost sleep due to the mass tide created by BNP’s one-week programme. They have understood that the people can no longer be suppressed. Therefore, terrorist forces are being deployed to counter the peaceful programs of the people. Awami League has proved its bankruptcy by using terrorist forces against the people to achieve their demands.
Chittagong Metropolitan BNP member secretary Abul Hashem Bakkar as the main speaker in the first session said, ‘The government has failed to run the country. The government must resign immediately. Otherwise, this government will have to pay a huge price.’
The second session started under the chairmanship of MA Aziz, Senior Joint Convenor of Chittagong Metropolitan BNP, and Mohammad Abdul Halim Shah Alam, Joint Convener of Chittagong Metropolitan BNP and member of the Reorganization Team, Abdus Sattar Salim, Member of the Reorganization Committee, Mamunul Islam Humayun, Monowara Begum Mani, Kotwali were present as special guests. Thana BNP general secretary Zakir Hossain, city BNP leaders Wahidul Alam, Abdul Baten, Mintu Ward BNP president Didarul Alam Labu, general secretary Jasim Mia.
