A selection commission has already been formed for the purpose of the election of Bangladesh Community in Greece. The leaders of the Election Commission exchanged views with Asud Ahmed, Bangladesh Ambassador appointed in Greece.

On Tuesday afternoon local time, the leaders of the Election Commission exchanged views with the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Greece, Asud Ahmed. It was attended by – Embassy Minister Mohammad Khaled, First Labor Secretary Biswajit Kumar Pal.

At this time, the ambassador assured full cooperation for the purpose of fair and orderly elections. On behalf of the community, the president of the new community, Abdul Quddus, senior vice-president Ahsan Ullah Hasan, election commissioner Khalek Matubbar, assistant election commissioner Hafeez Abdul Latif Jihadi, Osman Gani Kamal, Zakir Hossain, Abdul Bachit, Humayun Kabir Bhuiya, Fazlul Haque and S Alam Nipu. The Election Commission is hopeful to complete the fair elections very soon with the cooperation of all expatriates.

Besides, the ambassador assured the meeting to provide all kinds of cooperation for the peaceful completion of the election.

The last 6th election of Bangladesh Community in Greece was held in 2016. In this committee, Haji Abdul Quduch of Sylhet won the post of president and Khalek Matubbar of Madaripur was elected as the general secretary. The 7th election was supposed to be held in 2020, but it was not possible due to the Corona epidemic.

Recently, an election commission of 8 members has been formed headed by Khalek Matubbar, general secretary of the outgoing committee. The Assistant Election Commissioners are Hafeez Abdul Latif, Osman Gani Kamal, Zakir Hossain, Abdul Bachit, Fazlul Haque, Humayun Kabir Bhuia, S Alam Nipu and Mosharraf Howlader. The chief election commissioner is hopeful to complete the election peacefully with the cooperation of all expatriates.

A new committee will be led by fair elections as in the past; Those who will work for the welfare of expatriates – this is the expectation of Bangladeshi expatriates in Greece.
