The International Fish Fair was held in Bremen, Germany from September 4 to 6. Directorate of Fisheries participates in the Bangladesh Fair in collaboration with Solidarity Network Asia and under the overall supervision of the Bangladesh Embassy in Berlin.

Six companies from Bangladesh participated in this fair for the first time. Companies coming from Bangladesh are ACI Agrolink Limited, Deep Sea Fish Limited, MU Sea Food Limited, Crimson Rosella Sea Food Limited, Apex Sea Food Limited, Katlia AC Food Limited.

On the first day of the fair, on September 4, the Bangladesh Pavilion was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Germany. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan. During the inauguration, Ambassador Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said that Germany is the second export destination of Bangladesh. Bangladesh participated in this fair as an initiative to diversify exports. Bangladesh ranks third in the world in domestic fish production. He expressed hope that the amount of frozen fish exports including shrimps will increase in Germany in the next financial year.

On the second day of the fair, a seminar was organized at the Business Lounge of the Bremen Fair Center by Solidarity Network Asia and Bangladesh Embassy; Which creates a lot of interest among local and international traders. In the seminar, Ambassador Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan referred to the potential of Bangladesh’s deep sea fishing sector and urged German European investors to invest in the sector. The seminar was attended by a large number of German and European businessmen, including German Deputy Minister Kai Sürenberg.

Saiful Islam, Commercial Counselor of Bangladesh Embassy, ​​said that about 532 million frozen fishes were exported from Bangladesh in the last financial year. 60 million frozen fish exported to Germany. He expressed hope that the amount of this export will increase to 100 million dollars in the future. Salim Reza Hasan of Solidarity Network Asia, who came to the fair, said that participation in the fair is to highlight the revolution of Bangladesh’s fisheries sector in the last decade.

303 companies from 29 countries are participating in this fair held in Bremen this year. Enam Chowdhury, a businessman from Bangladesh who participated in the fair, said that there is a huge potential in the deep sea fisheries sector in Bangladesh; They have participated in this fair to highlight that.

Director of BFFEA Bangladesh Shyamal Das said that fish traders from different countries of the world participated in this fair held in Bremen, Germany; Which will play an effective role in increasing business networking.
