Dhaka: Bikash was awarded the Best Financial Institution of the Year 2021 in recognition of its outstanding contribution to financial inclusion. Bikash became the first MFS institution to win the ‘Best Financial Institution of the Year’ in the most prestigious ‘DHL-The Daily Star – Bangladesh Business Award’ for business institutions in the country. This information has been informed in a press release sent by Bikash.

According to the press release, Planning Minister MA Mannan presented the award to the founder and chief executive officer of Bikash Kamal Kadir at the 20th edition of Bangladesh Business Awards at the Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel in the capital on Friday evening. DHL Express Senior Vice-President of Commercial Affairs RS Subramanian, DHL Worldwide Express Bangladesh Limited Country Manager Md. Mierul Haque and Mahfuz Anam, publisher and editor of The Daily Star.

According to the press release, Bikash Yatra has become an integral part of people’s lives by bringing freedom and capability in their daily dealings, including marginalized people. “Developing” money transactions has now become synonymous with ensuring easy, secure and time-saving digital transactions for all across the country to enable financial inclusion. Apart from providing seamless mobile financial services, BKash has become a partner in fulfilling people’s dreams, which at the same time is taking the country forward on the path of prosperity. This award is his recognition.

It is to be noted that since 2000, DHL Express and the country’s top English newspaper The Daily Star have been giving this award jointly in recognition of the contribution of various organizations to the overall economic development of the country.

Kamal Kadir, founder and chief executive officer of BKash, said that Bangladesh is moving firmly towards prosperity with inclusive growth after 50 years of independence. In keeping with this momentum, over the past decade, Bikash has been working tirelessly to ensure more effective financial inclusion for both unbanked and unbanked communities. It should be noted that Bikash won the country’s best brand award three times consecutively in 2019, 2020 and 2021 in the consumer survey conducted by Bangladesh Brand Forum. In addition, Bikash was selected as the country’s best employer twice in 2020 and 2021 in Nielsen’s survey. Vikas was ranked 23rd among the world’s top 50 companies in the 2017 “Change the World” list by world renowned Fortune magazine.
