Bangabandhu laid the foundation for Bangladesh’s relationship with Japan: Telecommunication Minister
Dhaka, September 4, 2022 (BASS): Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar said that Bangladesh-Japan relations are unparalleled. Bangabandhu laid the foundation of friendly relations between Bangladesh and Japan through his visit to Japan in 1973.
He said these things in a special guest speech at a function organized on the occasion of awarding the ‘Order of the Rising Sun’ to the owner of ‘Hawkes Bay Automobiles Limited’, Abdul Haque, at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on Saturday night. .
Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki was present as the chief guest on this occasion.
Mentioning that the industrial revolution started from Western countries especially Europe – America, the minister said, ‘Japan has made us proud by playing a role in the industrial revolution in the Asian region’. He said that Bangladesh’s true friend, Japan, has a lot to learn.
At that time, Mustafa Jabbar said, Abdul Haque has set an exemplary example in playing a role in building a prosperous nation with the joint cooperation of the government and the private sector. He recalled with deep gratitude the role of former FBCCI leader Abdul Haque in withdrawing VAT-tax from computers in 1998-99.
