The police have arrested three people, including general secretary of Syedabad Union Youth Dal of Sadar Upazila, Abdul Awal, in a case filed in connection with the clash between BNP activists and the police in Sirajganj.
Inspector (Operation) of Sadar Police Station Suman Kumar Das confirmed this information on Sunday (September 4) noon and said that the arrest operation of the accused in the case is continuing.
The arrested are- Abdul Awal, general secretary of Syedabad Union Youth Dal of Sadar Upazila, Shafiqul Islam Shafi, BNP leader of Dattabari Mahalla of Sirajganj Municipal Area, Enamul Haque, younger brother of District BNP Vice President Nazmul Hasan Rana.
Parvez. On September 1, police clashed with BNP leaders and activists in Sirajganj on the occasion of BNP’s foundation anniversary rally. At least 20 BNP leaders and activists including 7 policemen were injured in the clash. Police filed a case against 110 leaders and activists, making District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu the main accused in the incident. Police arrested 5 BNP leaders and activists in Emmala so far.
Among the accused in the case are- District BNP General Secretary Saidur Rahman Bachchu, Joint Secretary Shamim Khan, Joint Secretary Rashedul Hasan Ranjan, Joint Secretary Munsi Alam, District BNP Vice President Shri Amar Krishna Das, Vice President Nazmul Hasan Rana, Organizing Secretary Abu Saeed. Sweet, district youth president Mirza Abdul Jabbar Babu, general secretary Muraduzzaman Murad, organizational secretary Abdul Alim, district volunteer president Anwar Hossain Rajesh, general secretary Abdullah Al Kayes. District BNP organizing secretary Mirza Mostafa Zaman said that the police have filed a case against BNP and 110 activists and activists of BNP in connection with the police clash. 5 activists have already been arrested in this case. He demanded the release of the arrested.
