The people of the south-western region of the country are now waiting for the railway to run on the dream Padma Bridge. For that purpose, the work of this rail connection is progressing at a fast pace. Locals hope that rail movement on the Padma Bridge will add a new dimension to connectivity in the region. Socio-social conditions will change.

The work of Padma Setu Link Railway (faridpur broken end railway) junction and railway line is progressing at a fast pace along the broken expressway of Faridpur. Domestic and foreign engineers are constantly supervising this work. Some are spending their time in the construction of stationers and others in the installation of rail sleepers.

Visible on the surface, are specially made concrete sleepers on the line. And there are steel rails on both sides. Casting is given after placing rod, sleeper and sheet.

According to the sources of Padma Bridge Rail Link Project Department, 20 junctions will be established in 172 km from Dhaka-Jesore at a cost of 39 thousand 246 crores. This includes a 28 km railway line from Bhagwa to Jajira in the Faridpur section. The work of installing sleepers on this road will be completed within the specified time. For this purpose, the railway authority has ordered the contractor to complete the work quickly.

Meanwhile, people from all over, including businessmen and farmers in the south-western region, have started dreaming about rail connectivity. And for this, the price of agricultural land is starting to increase day by day.

Talked to several local residents about this project. They said, we are starting to dream big like Padma Bridge. Because once the railway connection is completed, mills will be built in the region, which will create job opportunities for the unemployed. The fortunes of the people of the neglected Southwest will change.

Teacher Mizanur Rahman and businessman Shamim Hossain said that after Bangabandhu’s death, the greater Faridpur region was neglected in development. The current government has removed that deficiency by establishing the Padma Bridge and rail link.

Broken Upazila Chairman Habibur Rahman said, ‘Due to this rail link, goods from Mongla and Payra ports will be able to reach the capital easily. In this, the country will go ahead economically. I hope it will be finished within the specified time.

Nazrul Islam, president of Faridpur Chamber of Commerce, said, ‘Business will expand through the opening of the railway on the Padma Bridge. There will be economic changes in Faridpur region, through which socio-social revolution will take place in the south-western region’.

Mintu Hossain, Deputy Divisional Engineer of Padma Bridge Rail Link Project Department, said, ‘The work of establishing 20 junctions of 172 km from Dhaka to Jessore at a cost of Tk 39 thousand 246 crores is going on. This includes a 28 km railway line from Bhagwa to Jajira in the Faridpur section. We are trying to complete the work within the stipulated time. In this project, local and foreign experienced engineers are supervising the work all the time.
