Dubai Bangladesh Consulate has announced awards for expatriates to increase remittance flow. Bangladesh Consulate has decided to give ‘Remittance Award’ to expatriates who send more money. This award will be given in different categories in the month of October. Such an initiative is to encourage expatriates, says the consulate.

Bangladesh Embassy in United Arab Emirates has taken various initiatives to increase the flow of remittances through legal channels. In continuation of these initiatives, it was decided to award this time. From January to September 30 of this year, expatriates who send remittances to Bangladesh only legally can apply for the ‘Remittance Award’.

Among five separate categories, 10 people from general workers with a monthly salary of 1200 dirhams and below, 10 people from general workers above 1200 dirhams, 10 people from businessmen (male), 5 people from businessmen (women) and among professionals, engineers, teachers, bankers, This award will be given to 10 expatriates working at consultant, journalist, management level.

According to the notification, applications for remittance awards must be made in the prescribed form provided by the consulate. The application must be submitted by September 30 along with the necessary documents to prove that the remittance has been sent in a valid manner.

In this regard, Bangladesh Consulate Dubai Consul General BM Jamal Hossain said that a total of 45 people are being brought under this award. There will be various professionals including general workers, businessmen, journalists. The announcement of the Bangladesh Consulate has already seen a lot of enthusiasm among the expatriate Bangladeshis.

Hundreds of applications have been received so far for remittance awards. By September 30, this number is expected to increase to several thousand.
