A case has been filed against 18 people including transport contractor Moazzem Hossain as seven trucks coming from Patenga in Chittagong to Bogra were found to be adulterated. Chittagong TSP Complex Manager (Administration) Mazharul Islam filed the case at Bogra Sadar Police Station as the plaintiff on Friday (September 2) afternoon.
On Saturday (September 3), Bogra Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salim Reza confirmed the matter.
The accused in the case are – Moazzem Hossain of M/s MHR Corporation, the contractor appointed for transporting TSP fertilizer in Bogra, Abu Taher, representative of MHR Corporation, truck driver and helper Jasim Uddin, Babu Mia, Shakeel Ahmed, Md Hanif, Asadul, Jahangir Alam, Sohail Rana, Shah respectively. Alam, Abdul Awal, Shakeel, Tarek, Abul Bashar, Noor Hossain, Hasan, Saidul Islam, Badal Mia. All of them were working as employees of MHR Enterprises.
OC Salim Reza said, RAB has handed over 16 arrested people to us. Those arrested were sent to court in the afternoon. Apart from this, one other accused along with the main accused in the case is absconding. An operation is underway to arrest them.
Last Monday (August 29), 7 trucks from Chittagong TSP complex and 10 trucks on Tuesday, totaling 17 trucks of TSP fertilizer came to Bafa warehouse. Then samples were taken from 7 trucks suspected of being adulterated and sent to Rajshahi Soil Resources Development Institute, on Thursday they were proved to be adulterated. Then on the evening of the same day, RAB-12 arrested 13 truck drivers and helpers from Bafa warehouse. The next day, RAB company commander Touhidul Mobin Khan told reporters in a press briefing held at his office that genuine TSP fertilizer was unloaded from the trucks leaving from Chittagong for buffer warehouse in Bogra and adulterated fertilizer was loaded at Hemayetpur in Savar.
