Chittagong: Jatiya Sangsad Whip Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan commented that a few political parties, including BNP, are jealous of the success of the Awami League government.
He said this in the chief guest’s speech at the meeting with the convenors of the organizing committee of 15 police stations of Chittagong metropolis Awami League at the circuit house auditorium on Saturday (September 3) morning.
The organizing secretary in charge of Awami League’s Chittagong division said that Awami League believes in people’s politics. Today, Bangladesh has turned around under the strong leadership of People’s Leader Sheikh Hasina. When the apparent crisis is becoming normal due to the global economic recession situation, the BNP-Jamaat movement is creating anarchy and sabotage to overthrow the government illegally. Even before this, they have tried to create unstable situation in the country through arson-terrorism and killing common people on various irrational issues. In the past, Awami League has resisted them from the streets. This time too Chittagong Awami League has to strengthen its organizational position at the grass root level.
Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League General Secretary AJM Nashir Uddin presented the decisions taken in the exchange meeting and said that Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League has continued its organizational activities as per the central instructions. At the same time membership collection and renewal activities are going on. The meeting of the executive committee of Chittagong Metropolitan Awami League will be held on September 6 and the date and time of the conference of 17 wards will be decided in this meeting.
Meanwhile, next September 18, in the presence of Central Organizing Secretary Abu Saeed Al Mahmud Swapan MP, the remaining wards which did not have a conference will be checked and monitored and the date of the conference will be set according to convenience.
